What is Kids Klub? :

Kids Klub is the junior youth group, high energy event, for elementary school aged young people (Grade 5-8) in our parish. Our motto is “ If it’s Friday Night - then it’s Kids Klub Night”. From September to June, we gather weekly from 7-8:30 pm at Our Lady of Fatima School Gym for Sports, Service and Special Events. These include our Gym Riots and some high energy activity nights all with unique themes. We also host special trips during our year and perform various service activities to aid the less fortunate - our October Blanket Brigade and our Lenten Bowl a Rama are favorites ! Admission is, like for all our weekly events, free. From skits to trips, from wacky to wet events, we have them all in an environment of fun and faith!

Our purpose is to help young people to know, love and serve Jesus Christ by creating a safe fun environment where they can grow in their Catholic faith.

What do you do at KIDS KLUB ?:

SPORTS:

Our events each have a “Sporting Flare” to them. Our Gym Riots feature Basketball, Floor Hockey and team sports. Plus we also feature a Arts and Crafts station or a board games room. All our events are high energy! Each Friday we promote Spirit, Sportsmanship and an attitude of Service. Each time we gather we recognize young people who demonstrate these qualities. All of our activities are about ensuring everyone enjoys just plain fun in a faith context.

SAINTS:

One vital component is our "FAITH FACTOR". It is a time built into each evening for looking at our life of faith as Catholics and in particular the role models of faith found within the Saints. Each year Kids Klub members work on their "Bead Bracelet" and receive a coloured bead to represent one of the saint role models they are hoping to learn from as they seek the path of Discipleship.

SERVICE:

A central feature of our service component is our “SERVICE SQUAD” which is a group of young people who wish to actively become involved in service activities in the parish. This might be as an Altar Server or even as a helper at a parish function, an assistant with our IWANNAGO children's program, part of our Kids Khior or even a participant in one of our Children's Masses. We also offer opportunities for Children to participate in our Good Friday Children's Celebration - dramatization of the Passion and presentation of the Prayers of the Faithful are two aspects of this.

Everyone also is invited to be part of various service opportunities at Fall (Blanket Brigade in support of the Out of the Cold Program), Advent (Christmas Caroling at St Luke's Place) and Lent (Bowl a Rama in support of Share Lent). Kids Klub members also participate in the parish Service Saturday and Red Stocking Campaign and we have a sponsored child in Haiti whom we support, not only financially with our "Coin Can" but also thru letters and cards which we send from time to time through Christian Child Care International.

SPECIAL EVENTS:

We offer several special events during our activity year which runs from September to June. There are group trips for young people including: Blue Jays, Raptors, Canada's Wonderland, and Playdium.  Our "Rock the Block" event in August is a great way to celebrate summer.

OUR PRAYER

Thank you Lord Jesus, for this time together.

Help us each day, and in every way,

to Know you, to Love you, and to Serve you.

Amen.
